Let us Tellier something...
We were told earlier in the year that Daft Punk would be working on the new Sebastian Tellier album.
Half of that new excited us a great deal - the Daft Punk bit. As far as we were concerned Sebastian Tellier was generally a run-of-the-mill beardy French bloke who, while being rather decent at spooky French electric folk, wasn't someone worth too much in the way of fuss.
We stand by that, but having heard the first of Tellier's collaborations with the robotic genius of Guy Manuel De Homem-Christo, it might be time for everyone (and us) to start making a fuss.
What input Tellier has had on his new single is a bit difficult to put a robotic-finger on, 'Sexual Sportswear' is a minimalist track which sounds like the start of an amazing new duo rather than the beginning of a long overdue production career for Daft Punk.
It's very good. We are currently sat awaiting our delivery of our pink 12" vinyl.
Listen to 'Sexual Sportswear' at Sebastian Tellier's MySpace. Then start getting excited about the album, due early 2008.
