Perhaps if you'd like to know a bit about the Hadouken! USB mixtape you could read this informative review at Female First.
Funnily enough, they managed to award the mixtape a generous 3/5 way back in September, despite the fact that their review is a copied and pasted press release. It reads strangely similar to the 'review' at HMV.
But enough picking holes, here is a thing about the 'We're Not Here To Please You' by Hadouken! that we have written after listening to it (a lot) this week.
- It's not the Hadouken! album. That will no doubt be along soon.
- It is a collection of Hadouken tracks, some we all know - 'Tuning In' and 'Liquid Lives' and some we don't all know 'Bounce' and 'Girls'.
- In the context of the mixtape, 'Leap Of Faith' is suddenly, and without question one of the greatest singles of 2007. It sounds a lot more like Enter Shikari than we would ever have wanted Hadouken! to sound, but it is quite, quite amazing. We are expecting it to make it's debut in our Ipod 'Top 25 Most Played' before the week is out.
- It will not be released on a CD but on a USB. We received a promotional CD but that is because we are special and good. We are not allowed to let anyone else listen to it because it might end up on the internet and then we would lose our day job. =(
- There are remixes of Plan B's 'No More Eatin' and Bloc Party's 'The Prayer' on the mixtape. As well as having the produced fiddled with, James from Hadouken! does a lot of shouting over the top of both, improving each a million times over. 'The Prayer' we were keen on before, 'No More Eatin', less so.
And according to the HMV site, (again) it will be selling for less than five quid. You will not spend a better five pounds this year. This, we promise you – although we can offer any more concrete guarantees, refunds or sympathy should you find we are wrong.
