Here is a picture of the two most exciting things that arrived in the post today. One of these will no doubt mean the loss of several good weekends and the other is the one of the greatest singles of 2007.
The first: Zelda for the DS.
Pokemon Pearl is starting to feel a little long in the tooth now and it is proving impossible to complete the National Pokedex and move on. This means never catching a Staryu, but life is full of let downs, innit.
The second: The Whip 'Sister Siam'.
There is not much point worrying to much about the radio edit, simply because it is one and a half minutes less good than the album version, which, despite some humble beginnings, has quickly become one of our favourite tracks by The Whip. Remixes come courtesy of Justin Robertson (minimal electro, some backwards singing), James Rutledge (spooky, skewed vocals but with the backing intact) – and the Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya Remix, which to be honest, had more effort put into it's title than it did the actual mix. It's a bit of a racket.
Also on the desk you may spot a Lorraine badge (dated), a Booty Luv 'compact' (gay) and the feet of a Playmobil Princess. Exactly the items what you might expect to find in the work area of any grown adult male…
